You may want to define sparse areas, revisit your brow shape or spend less time filling your brows in. The first decision is the look you prefer. The next is whether hairstroke or powder work is appropriate for your skin and starting point.
Hairstroke or powder brows?
Hairstroke brows use fine, individual marks to create the appearance of brow hairs. Powder brows use shading for a more filled-in effect. They are different finishes; choosing between them means looking at your skin, existing hair, previous pigment and the way you like to wear your brows.
Start with your own brows
Bring a photograph of your everyday brow makeup, or arrive ready to explain what you like and what you would change. The height of the arch, the front of the brow and the tail all affect the overall look. A reference photograph is a conversation starter, rather than a design to copy onto another face.
Already have a brow tattoo?
Mention previous microblading or cosmetic tattooing when you enquire, even if it has faded. The remaining colour and shape need to be assessed before a new approach can be recommended. Another layer of pigment is not automatically the right next step.
Look beyond the appointment-day photograph
Ask to see examples of healed brows as well as fresh work. Discuss how the proposed finish relates to your skin and how any follow-up assessment is arranged. Use the aftercare instructions supplied for your treatment rather than another artist’s routine.

Will hairstroke brows suit me?
Suitability cannot be decided from a preferred style alone. Your skin, existing hair and previous pigment need to be assessed. You can discuss both hairstroke and powder finishes before deciding.
Do I need to remove my existing brow tattoo first?
Not every existing tattoo can be worked over. Enquire with clear photographs and details of previous treatment so the existing work can be assessed. A recommendation follows that assessment.
Can you copy a brow shape from a photograph?
Bring the photograph to show the style you like. The proposed shape still needs to be discussed in relation to your own features and existing brows.
What should I ask about the price?
Ask for a quote covering the proposed technique and clarify whether a follow-up appointment is included. Mention previous tattooing when requesting pricing.
